Maple syrup is crafted from maple sap, collected in early spring. When brought to a boil, the maple sap transforms into a much thicker and darker syrup. This maple syrup contains polyphenols, antioxidants commonly found in fruits and vegetables. Both maple syrup and maple water are recommended for diabetics as they stimulate insulin production. Additionally, it has been proven that maple products make bacteria more susceptible to antibiotics.
